This is a sandstone Head of Bodhisattva from Cambodia, 10th - 12th century A.D. A carved head depicts an ornately headdress of a divinity with eyes open and full brow, likely in meditation. Long ears symbolize wisdom and longevity. Provenance: Ex Private Cambridge Oriental collection. The artefact is in good condition, but with signs of wear due to age. Mounted on a wooden pedestal, the head weighs over 1.85 kgs and measures 155mm tall (305mm tall including the base).
