This is a museum quality reproduction of an Iguanodon bernissartensis lower tooth. The original fossil came from the Cretaceous Period (130 million years), Wealden Beds of Sussex, UK and displays the crown (some natural wear can be seen) and part of the root. The original tooth was collected by Mantell in the 1820s. Certain fossils are just too costly and some are one-of-a-kind specimens that can only be viewed at museums. This fossil reproduction is an exact copy, cast directly from the actual fossil itself. It even feels like the original. The replica tooth measures 40mm x 22mm on a matrix of 50mm x 33mm.
