This is a Chokwe Carved Face Mask, Western Ivory Coast and into Liberia, late 19th Century – early 20th century. A carved face mask, decorated with lengths of fiber representing hair, small nose, carved teeth and displays scarification. Provenance: From the late Brian Morley Collection, 1950s. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 300mm tall (275mm to include the fiber lengths).
