This is a Bronze Age Socketted Axehead, 11th-9th century B.C. A bronze axe-head with curved blade and teardrop-shaped opening to the body, elliptical socket with thickened rim and collar below. Provenance: Property of a European gentleman living in London; acquired on the UK art market. The artefact is in fine condition (small hole to the blade) and measures 90mm long.
