This is a Gandharan Scenic Column Fragment, 2nd-3rd century A.D. A fragment of a carved steatite column with horizontal robed figure, frieze of two worshippers in turbans, figure with leaf in the right hand, fold of cloth from his tunic in his left hand. Provenance: UK art market, acquired prior to 2000. Mounted on a custom-made stand. The artefact is in good condition, weighs 3.3 kgs and measures including stand 400mm (15 3/4").
