This is a Statue of the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi, c. late 19th century. A white metal standing figurine, coated in black lacquer, with one hand resting on her hip, the other facing forward, wearing an elaborate costume and mounted on a custom-made Perspex display base. Provenance: from an old Cambridge Collection. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 152mm tall (182mm including the base).
