This is a bronze figure of Shiva with Parvati, South India, Tamil Nadu, Chola Period, 10th – 11th century A.D. Sitting on a lotus platform, Shiva is in Lalitasana, the posture of royal ease, with one leg dangling and the other folded, depicted seated on lotus seat and holding Parvati who sits on his left knee. Provenance: from a Canadian Collection, originally acquired from an antique dealer in Chor Bazar, Mumbai, India. The artefact is in fine condition (the head of Parvati is missing and some wear to the base) and measures 64mm tall.
