This is a bronze figure of Ganesh, South India, Tamil Nadu, Late Chola Period, 13th century A.D. A seated figure of Ganesh, his four arms holding an elephant goad (ankusha), a noose (pasha), his broken right tusk, and his trunk, an
animated coiled trunk, a rounded belly, bell-like anklets and displaying a rat at the base of the throne. Provenance: from a Canadian Collection, originally acquired from an antique dealer in Chor Bazar, Mumbai, India. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 52mm tall.
