This is a Bronze Figure of Namaste Hanuman, Chola Kingdom of South India, 11th century A.D. Hanuman is standing with his hands together in the Anajali Mudra or Namaste hand position, wearing a crown and with his tail curving around the head. Provenance: from a Canadian Collection, originally acquired from an antique dealer in Chor Bazar, Mumbai, India. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 70mm tall.

Cf. Typical of Chola-period representations, Hanuman has assumed anthropomorphic form, with only his face and tail confirming his monkey identity. Hanuman is one of the heroes of the Ramayana saga and known for his incredible strength, bravery and loyalty to his friend, Lord Ram.
