This is a South Indian Bronze Sculpture of Balakrishna 17th – 19th Century A.D. A crawling figure of Balakrishna adorned with necklaces and other jewellery and a 'sacred thread' around his waist, wearing a cylindrical headdress and holding a ball of butter in his right hand. Provenance: From the family collection of a London collector; formerly acquired in the late 1950s. The artefact is in very fine condition, mounted on a custom marble base and measures 118mm tall.
