This is a small Ghandhara stucco figure of Buddha, circa 4th century A.D. A modelled Buddha figure with a gentle contemplative expression on a custom-made wooden stand. Provenance: From the collection of James Somerville, 1843-1923. The artefact is in good condition (some chips and wear) and measures 115mm tall without the stand and 140mm with stand.
