This is a Gandharan Grey/Brown Schist Buddha Head, Kushan, c. 2nd/3rd century A.D. A once finely carved stone section displaying the head flanked by long pendulous lobes and an ornate headdress and the shoulders of Buddha.
Provenance: From an old Dorset collection. The artefact is in good condition (some wear to the finer details) and measures 64mm high (116mm high on the wooden base).
