This is a large Lower Palaeolithic, Middle Acheulian (Homo erectus) brown flint Drill Point, c.300,000 to 200,000 B.C. from Moortowns Pit, Sussex, UK. There are no alterations, restorations or modern re-chipping but displays prehistoric use. Provenance: Ex Henry Dewey (1876-1965) Collection began in 1912. The tool weighs 370gms and measures 89mm x 83mm wide x 49mm thick.
