This is a Japanese Meiji Period Carved Ivory Okimono modelled as a peasant figure, 19th century A.D. A small male figure wearing traditional robes with square decoration and carrying a fish. Provenance: from an old Nottingham Oriental Collection. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 73mm tall.
