This is a Bronze Age Flat Axe, c.1800 B.C. A complete bronze flat axe of trapezoidal form with a narrow butt and slightly curved cutting edge. Excavated on the coast of Phonecia. Provenance: From the Dr Michael D Carter collection, acquired 1986. The artefact is in fine condition, surface a little rough, weighs 215gms and measures 140mm long.
