This is a fine Persian bronze sword blade with pronounced midrib, c. 1st Millennium B.C. The blade was probably longer. It is in excellent solid condition with sharp edges and a nice patina. Tang of the sword blade is absent and it has a chipped edge. The artefact measures 301mm long. Provenance: Property of a Cambridge Gentleman; acquired on the London Art Market, 1980s.
