This is a Fayum Neolithic flint Arrowhead, c.4400-4000 B.C., Nabta Playa. A bifacial grey/brown, tanged and grooved flint arrowhead. There are no alterations, restorations or modern re-chipping. Provenance: From an old Bath Collection acquired in the 1970s. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 35mm x 20mm.

Nabta Playa was once a large internally drained basin in the Nubian Desert, located approximately 800 kilometres south of modern-day Cairo or about 100 kilometres west of Abu Simbel in southern Egypt.
