This is an Acheulian knife from the Lower Palaeolithic, 600 - 700.000 B.C. A large bifacial brown flint knife, triangular in form, flat pressure edge and worked to a point. The artefact was discovered at Le Grand Pressigny, in the Southern Touraine region of the Loire Valley, France. Provenance: from an old French Collection. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 112mm long x 88mm wide x 28mm thick.
