This is a silver gilt Byzantine Cross, c. 1100 A.D. Both faces of the cross are decorated with intricate floral patterns and text, the front face displays green enamel, and has a suspension hole. Provenance: From an old Reading Archaeological Collection. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 52mm tall.
