This is an Anglo-Saxon Bronze Plate Buckle, c. 6th – 7th century A.D. A complete bronze belt buckle including the tongue and with traces of gilt. Found close to Ipswich. Provenance: from an old Cambridge Collection. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 43mm long.
