This is a Dan Carved Face Mask, Democratic Republic of the Congo, late 19th Century – early 20th century. A carved face mask, decorated with lengths of fiber representing hair and displays scarification. Provenance: From the late Brian Morley Collection, 1950s. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 195mm tall (340mm to include the fiber lengths).
