This is a Fossil Cave Bear, Ursus spelaeus Rib Bone, Pleistocene Age, Romania. Ursus spelaeus became extinct at the beginning of the Last Glacial Maximum, about 27,500 years ago. Provenance: from an old Bristol collection acquired during 1980s. The specimen is in fine condition and measures 190mm long if laid our straight.
