This is a River Net Weight, Late Archaic Period, c. 4000 BCE - c. 1000 B.C. from the Susquehanna River, Pennsylvania, USA. A bi-notched net sinker using a simple percussion method and shows little additional modification. The pebble is of sedimentary origin comprised of medium coarse to fine grained sandstone and river tumbled to form rounded shapes. Provenance: From an old Bath Collection. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 93mm x 66mm x 13mm.
