This is a Late Archaic Projectile Point, c. 5000 - 3500 B.C. A Brewerton side-notched projectile point in a red/brown chert from Midwestern United States. The Brewerton Side Notched points, were for the most part used as javelin dart heads with the larger specimens used as spear points. Provenance: from an old Hampshire collection. The artefact in very fine condition and measures 90mm long x 38mm wide x 8mm thick.
