This is a Syro-Hittite Seated Monkey Amulet c.1000 B.C. A stone monkey, seated on hind legs, hands to chest; engraved details to face with wide mouth and almond-shaped eyes. Provenance: Property of a Surrey lady; acquired by her father Christopher Terry in the late 1970s-early 1980s. The artefact is in fine condition, some traces of paint and measures 41mm tall.
