This is a large Greek Hellenistic pottery spindle flask, c. 4th - 3rd Century B.C. A perfume flask with an oval body tapering to a wide flat foot, the is neck tubular displaying dark red coloured banding and a well-formed lip rim. Provenance: Private Derby antiquities collection. The artefact is in fine condition (repair to the foot) and measures 190mm tall.
