This is a Byzantine Mount Group, 10th-12th century A.D. A mixed group of bronze belt- or harness-mounts comprising: a domed stud; two crotal bells; a round silver stud with radiating bars and pellets; a pierced dangle with three rings; an equal-armed mount; a heart-shaped strap-slot reinforcer; two heart-shaped studs and a rosette. Provenance: Property of a European gentleman living in South Africa; acquired since the late 1980s. The artefacts are in fine condition and measure 13-30mm (1/2 - 1 1/4").
