This is a Byzantine Ceramic Oil Lamp c.4th-5th century A.D. A slipper-shaped profile on a round base, the spout forming a channel to the top with a cross formed inside the channel and bands of horizontal lines decorating the upper face. Provenance: from an old Carmarthen Collection. Although part of the handle is missing and the spout has been repaired, the artefact is in very good condition and measures 88mm x 54mm x 37mm high.
