This is an Ancient Greek pottery Hellenistic figure of an athlete, c.4th Century B.C. A terracotta figure from a grave deposit in South Italy. These figures were often broken when deposited in graves to stop theft in antiquity. Provenance: from an old German collection. The artefact is in fine condition, displayed on a custom-made stand and measures 100mm tall (132mm including the stand).
