This is an ancient Greek terracotta votive plaque, Magna Graecia, c.4th - 5th century B.C. Moulded in high relief, a Greek pottery votive in the form of the head of a goddess, possibly depicting the goddess Demeter. Provenance: from an old Bath antiquities collection. Although the top of the headdress is missing and some chipping to the neck, the artefact is in very fine condition, no repairs and measures 110mm high x 63mm wide.
