This is an Anglo-Saxon Dagger Chape, c. 900 - 1000 A.D., found Lincolnshire. A bronze dagger chape decorated with a loop at the base. Provenance: Lindum Colonia Collection, Lincoln. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 43mm long.
