This is a carefully worked bifacial Neolithic grey flint thin butt, broad bladed Axehead, c.3000 B.C. The artefact is fresh and sharp with minimal abrasion or post-depositional edge damage and has a partially polished blade. The axehead was discovered at Swaffham, Norfolk. Provenance: Old Norfolk Collection, collected during 1960s – 1970s. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 93mm long.
