This is a Chimu Culture Stirrup Vessel, c. 1000 to 1370 A.D. A Blackware pottery vessel with a layered globular body, a strap handle, tall neck and a flared rim. From an old Hastings antiquities collection. The artefact is in very fine condition (some chips to the rim), complete and measures 215mm tall.
