This is a Pre-Columbian Moche Vessel with fine-line drawings c. 550 - 700 A.D. A Stirrup Vessel with highly stylised polychrome decorations to include two mythological birds painted on both sides in dark red and ochre colours. Provenance: From an old Oxford, collection; formed before 1980. The artefact is in very fine condition (some wear to the decoration) and measures 223mm tall.
