This is a pre-Columbian Ceramic polychrome Olla from the Nicoya Culture, Costa Rica, c.1000- 1200 A.D. A bowl with a flared rim, decorated with complex red and black geometric designs of linear and angular patterns. Provenance: From an old Colchester collection. Although the artefact has some chips to the rim, it is in fine condition and measures 105mm tall x 180mm in diameter.
