This is a Pre-Columbian Mayan Ceramic Bowl with Masked Seated Figures, c.250-900 A.D. A broad bowl with flat base, two panels of figural ornament to the outer face depicting opposed figures in ceremonial headdresses. From the private collection of a German gentleman; acquired prior to 1982. The bowl has a crack to one side otherwise the artefact is in good condition measuring 22cm (8 1/2") in diameter.
