This is a pre-Columbian Terracotta Bowl from the Carchi Culture, Ecuador, c. 800 - 1500 A.D. A broad terracotta bowl with a with flared pedestal base, a thickened rim and a black linear decoration to the body. Provenance: From the Zuckerman Collection, collected in Quito, Ecuador in the early 1970s by her grandparents and passed down by decent. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 85mm tall x 175mm in diameter.
