This is a Pre-Columbian Peruvian Pottery Stirrup Vessel, Moche civilisation, c. 500-800 A.D. A burnished pottery stirrup flask vessel of typical squat circular form with bird decoration at the spouts, base section only. Provenance: ex-Bury St Edmunds Ethnographical Collection. The artefact is in very fine condition (base section only) and measures 140mm tall.
