This is a Pre-Columbian Pottery Stirrup Vessel from the North Coast of Peru, Moche civilisation, c. 1000 to 1400 A.D. A pottery stirrup flask vessel, modelled as a male figure, the handle formed by his left leg resting upon the top of his head. Provenance: ex-Bury St Edmunds Ethnographical Collection. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 230mm tall.
