This is a Pre-Columbian Mayan Terracotta Head Fragment, Central Mexico, c. 550 to 900 A.D. A terracotta Mayan male figure with almond-shaped eyes, a prominent nose and lips and a wide brow. Provenance: from an old Shrewsbury ethnographic collection. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 47mm x 45mm.
