This is a large Pre-Columbian Casas Grandes Redware Jar, Northern Mexico Culture, c. 1250 A.D. - 1450 A.D. A Casas Grandes Age cooking or storage jar of red terracotta with a bulbous shaped body with rounded bottom and an incised decoration to the body. Provenance: Private Sussex Collection, collected 1970s. The artefact is in very fine condition (a little wear to the rim) and measures 220mm tall x 230mm diameter.
