This is a Thai Brass Figure of the Buddha, 19th century. Seated in vajraparyankasana on a lotus base, his hands in bhumisparsamudra wearing simple monks' robes. The elongated face with downcast eyes, aquiline nose and a bow shaped mouth, flanked by long pendulous lobes, his hair arranged in tight curls rising to a domed ushnisha and flame. Ex Private Kent Oriental collection. The artefact is in very fine condition, weighs 1.4kgs and measures 220mm tall
