This is a Stoneware Oil Burner, c.1690 A.D. A shallow bowl with a formed handle; part of the cargo from a trading vessel wrecked off the coast of Vung Tau, Vietnam. Provenance: Private Reading antiquities collection, originally purchased by Harrods from the Christie’s Amsterdam auction, April, 1992, lot number 980 (with the original Certificate of Authenticity). The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 52mm tall x 145mm diameter.
