This is a Thai Copper Alloy Buddha Head, c.18th-19th century. A hollow cast bronze Buddha head with a contoured face, down-turned almond-shaped eyes, arched brows, relatively naturalistic nose, closed mouth with full lips presenting a gentle smile, and characteristically elongated earlobes and crowned by a head of tightly wound curls with a flaming ushnisha emerging from the top of the head. Provenance: Private Hampshire Collection, collected pre-1990. The artefact is in fine condition and measures 140mm tall.
