This is a Bronze Buddha Head from Thailand, 18th century A.D. A hollow cast small bronze Buddha head once part of a larger figure, with a finely contoured face, down-turned almond-shaped eyes, arched brows, relatively naturalistic nose, closed mouth with full lips presenting a gentle smile, and characteristically elongated earlobes and crowned by a head of tightly wound curls (probably once with a missing ushnisha emerging from the top of the head). Provenance: Private Derby Oriental Collection. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 48mm tall.
