This is an Aterian stone knife/Scraper, 145,000 to 40,000 B.C. A Middle Palaeolithic flake tool found in the Sahara Desert of North Africa. Early Man stone tools of African Middle Palaeolithic technology that runs simultaneous to the Neanderthals of Europe. Provenance: ex- Arthur Halcrow Versage Collection, Reigate, Surrey. The artefact is in very fine, displays Paleo layer desert patina and measures 60mm x 42mm.
