This is a Greek painted icon, gesso and tempera on a solid wooden panel of The Virgin and Child, 18th - 19th century. An icon of the Virgin and Child with halos in a silver riza. Provenance: from an old Carmarthen Collection. The work displays some wear and is in fair condition and measures 295mm x 221mm.
