This is a large terracotta pot from Papua New Guinea, 19th century. A large unglazed kombio type open cooking pot with a rounded base and straight sides probably used for cooking meat with incised and zig zag decoration around the top of the bowl. From an old Hastings antiquities collection. The artefact is in fine condition, complete, repaired (glue deposit where it has been repaired), weighs 1.2kgs and measures 180mm tall x 195mm diameter.
