This is a Maori (Heru) Double Ended Comb, 19th century. decorated with various motifs. A carved wooden comb used as a comb and possibly also as a hair decoration covered in incised traditional designs with a rich mid brown patina. Provenance: From an old Hampshire collection. The artefact is complete and in very fine condition and measures 305mm long.
