This is a large Wooden House Mask, early 20th century from Papua New Guinea. A wooden mask carved as an elongated face with feather headdress, inlaid with cowrie shells and with hog tusks to the nose. Provenance: ex-Bury St Edmunds Ethnographical Collection. The artefact is in very fine condition and measures 660mm tall.
